Grace and I started off today being quite lazy. Grace slept in until almost 10:00. That worked well while I helped get Brandon ready to go fishing with his friend. Carrera went over to her friends house. We were lounging around when Tonya called and invited us to an exhibit at the Botanical Garden on Stock Island. We hurried to get ready and head to meet Tonya and Sophia. I haven't been to the Botanical Garden since the fall. It has flourished and they've added a lot of new things to make maneuvering through there a lot easier. They installed a nice boardwalk to go through the butterfly part and even around the pond. The exhibit today was sponsored by the Butterfly Conservatory. They had booths set up all over the boardwalk to do things like decorate your own butterfly wings, make an antenna hat or even a butterfly house. They had a blast and even got balloon animals. Sophia got a puppy and Grace got a blue helicopter (go figure). It was a lot of fun. Grace and Sophia had the most fun playing with bubbles. Go figure. Such cute little girls.

After the exhibit at the Botanical Garden we went to the pool. It was perfect timing. Everyone was just leaving as we got there, so we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. Grace swam and swam. She did so good too. She would jump off the steps and swim about three or four feet away, and doggy paddle her way back to the steps. She is getting the hang of swimming thank goodness! After we got home Brandon was home and finished cleaning up the boat. There was a puddle in the driveway. What is it with kids and puddles? Grace was immediately drawn to it and started stomping and splashing in it in her new pink princess shoes. She kicked the water, stomped and even sat down in it. The entire time I'm watching this happen I can hear my mom and dad in my head telling the story of when I got new shoes and immediately got out of the GTO and in to a knee deep puddle. Like mother, like daughter I guess. I let Grace play in it until she was thoroughly wet and dirty. She had a blast. After that it was bath time and get ready for bed. It was a fun day and I love hanging out with my little girl. She makes me laugh. Even when she is being just like me. Guess you got your wish mom and dad... I grew up and now have a kid that is just like me.
