A One Girl Band

Grace loves her new toys that she got for her birthday. We got her a little toy drum along with other kid friendly instruments. My hopes were that she would leave her daddy's drums alone. HA! Anyways, my parents got her a mini pink 25 key piano. She loves to pound on that, sometimes with her hands, sometimes with her feet. Today however she was pounding on it with a drumstick. She even moved the drum over to the piano to make it easier to play both instruments. I guess she thinks she is a one girl band.

Happy Birthday Grace!

My little baby is one year old today. It's so hard to believe. This year has flown by so quickly and all I did was blink. So much has happened since she was born it's hard to believe it was only a year. We had a very laid back birthday this year. My parents are here so we just barbecued and opened gifts at the house. I made a strawberry cake for Grace and a strawberry banner that said "Happy Birthday Grace." It's not as if Grace will really remember any of this anyways. I'm glad they were here to celebrate this with us. Even though we didn't have a big huge party I still have been planning this for a long time. Grace wore her cute cupcake onesie and the pink tutu. I even made a matching hair bow with a cupcake on it. Grace wasn't too amused with the gifts, but she thought the cards and envelopes were really neat. I thought she would make a huge mess with the cake, but she seemed upset that her hands were covered with frosting. Towards the end she got the hang of it though. She knew what it was all about. What a funny girl.

Clown Costume

I wanted to have Grace wear my old costume from when I was her age. Somewhere, somehow it has disappeared. I was really excited when my Grandma, Grace's Great Grandma agreed to make her a new costume, using the same pattern. My mom couldn't find the exact fabric, but she found some cute red and white polka dot fabric. It such an adorable costume and Grace looks so cute in it. Thank you Grandma Ford for making such an adorable and special costume for Grace. Thank you Grandma Lee for keeping the pattern all this time.

Water Table

My dear friends Kristi, Brian and their adorable daughter Reese got Grace an outdoor water table to play with. It's a great year round toy here in Florida and Grace LOVES the water. I set it up yesterday, but didn't get to use it until today. I filled it with water and stood Grace up next to it. I don't think she has the right idea yet of what to do with it. I kept showing her how to pour the water in the container to make the wheel spin. She was more interested in licking the water. We'll keep working on it. At least she has fun trying to drink the water even if she doesn't understand how the toy works yet.

One Year Photos

I'm finally getting around to posting Grace's one year old photos that my very talented sister in law, Erica took while we were in Orlando. Grace didn't always cooperate, but Erica was patient and captured a lot of wonderful photos of Grace. Such a cutie!

Silly Girl

Grace is such a silly little girl. She still likes her bath, but she always has to have something in her mouth. Tonight it was that splash ball.

Grace's hair is FINALLY long enough to put up in a form of little piggie tails. They are so cute. Of course Brandon said that they actually resemble horns. I think they're adorable!
