Chores now take twice as long since Grace is mobile. Everything seems to take twice as long now. All my cupboards are childproofed, the doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms are shut, the hall closets are latched shut and all outlets have child proof plug covers. So if I need to get in to a cabinet, it takes me a bit to maneuver the "adult friendly - child proof" latches. Who designed those nightmares??? If I want to plug something in I usually have to pry the plug cover off with a butter knife. Nothing is easy and quick anymore. Not even laundry. The second that the washer door opens I have a helper sitting there waiting. As I put the dirty laundry in, she takes it out and throws it on the floor. Loading the washer used to only take about one minute, now it takes about ten. Grace isn't happy until all the clothes are out of the washer and on the floor. She waits for me to put them back in and does it all over again. She will only do that with the dirty clothes because the clean clothes usually are stuck to the side of the drum from the spin cycle and she can't pull them off very easily. She is such a big help when I'm trying to get things done.
