Beautiful Curls

I'm not really sure where Grace got her adorable curls, but she has a lot of them. It seems her hair gets more and more curly every day. I'm not really sure where she got them, but I'm sure glad she does.

Daddy And The New Chair

Brandon's mom is in town. She has been such a HUGE help, keeping Grace busy while Brandon and I unpacked boxes like mad. We are starting to have a living room now. It's so nice to see it finally. After we got done for the day we went out for dinner and came home and took a nice walk. Grace is now big enough to sit on Brandon's shoulder. She LOVED it. These are photos from the walk today.

After we got home and Grace had her bath, I put her in her new chair that my parents got her. It's so cute. Of course she is more interested in licking the buttons. Silly girl!

Such A Big Help!

We finally got our household goods. Whew, what a mess! The movers didn't do a very good job. They left as much in our carport as they brought inside. We've slowly brought our stuff in and unpacked it. We sorted and got rid of a lot of stuff. Our place in Germany was almost twice as big. Oh well.
During this time Grace has began to pull herself up on to anything that would stand still long enough. We really had to make sure that the boxes she was pulling herself up on were stable. I had to find all sorts of interesting ways to keep her occupied. Her new favorite thing is to play with my bag of ribbons. It kept her busy for almost an hour (that is eternity in baby time).

Just Because She Is Cute

I took this video this morning. She was making me laugh. She was holding herself up on my leg and bouncing up and down while making these sounds. It was just funny to watch.

Good Morning Sounds

It is so nice to hear her cooing and giggling in the morning. I love waking up to those sounds. I recorded her morning sounds so everyone could hear what a happy baby she is in the morning.

Just Being Grace

We finally had a day where it wasn't scorching outside at night. I took Grace outside to let her play in the grass. She was unsure at first but she soon relaxed and started playing in it. She even tried eating a few blades of grass.

9 1/2 Months Already

I can't believe that Grace is already 9 1/2 months old. She is getting so big so quick. She no longer looks or acts like that little baby we brought home from the hospital. She is rapidly becoming a kid. I'm not ready for it. But, it doesn't matter whether I'm ready for it or not, she is going to do it anyway. These are from her bath tonight. I even got a the back view of a sleepy eye rub.

Happy Fourth of July!

We celebrated Grace's first Fourth of July by going to the barbecue at the military base. It was nice. They had a lot of inflatable water slides for the kids, a magician, a dunk tank and even a small petting zoo. Grace loved the miniature horse. She also wanted to touch the two toe sloth really badly. We didn't let her since she is in the phase of sticking her fingers up noses and in eyes. That was the petting zoo's newest attraction.
We had to go home for a little while to let her take a nap. We got her up just in time to head back to the base to watch the fireworks. She didn't make it to the finale, and she fell asleep in the car. We'll try it again next year. At least she liked the pretty lights.

Oops

Okay, I admit it. I wasn't paying attention. I had dozed off while I was waiting for Brandon. He was in the fishing supply store and I was comfortably waiting with Grace in the air conditioned van. I got a little too comfortable and fell asleep a bit. Grace was safe in her car seat, and just playing quietly. All of a sudden I heard plastic crinkling. I woke up to see Grace chewing on my new knee pad that I had got to make giving her a bath easier. I didn't think anything of it until I turned it around and saw that she had taken chunks out of it. Thankfully I managed to get most of the chunks before they were swallowed. If I see anything blue in her diaper, I'll know what it is. That will teach me to leave anything within her reach from the car seat.

Shriek Monkey

Grace can really shriek. I think she sometimes hits decibel that only dogs can hear. The shriek has become a part of her normal vocabulary. So now we listen to 'da-da, ba-ba and SHRIEK' all in the same baby babble sentence.

Quick Bath

Breakfast this morning was particularly messy. I fed Grace watermelon, strawberries and bananas. I don't know if any of it got in her mouth or not, but I know it got everywhere else. We needed to run errands today and I couldn't take Grace out with strawberry chunks in her hair. Instead of going through the long process of running the bath and getting out all the bath toys I decided to bathe her in the sink. Well long story short, it was a very wet event. The floor is now freshly mopped thanks to my little splash queen. I think it would have been faster and easier to bathe her in the bathtub after all.
